Extra ghost word on yhoo chat name

G'day,
Came across an interesting thing yesterday. Can you help me with it.
a yahoo instant messenger chat name that has an extra name on the end with a space inbettween it and the original name. No underscore between them.
It does not show up in the edit/create profiles section on the profile page, just the original chat name. I tried to delete the original and replace it with the same name hoping that the ghost word on the end would be eliminated but yhoo does not allow the function of deleting a name to put the same name back in.
I guess it's a hack.. some mischievious person that has done this.
Any Ideas on how to remove the ghost word?

What is the id and what way does it show.

I don't want to write the id in a forum as it may be liable to all sorts of negative attention.

this is how it is when seen on messenger. *********_***** ******

there is an extra word one space apart from the origional id
it does not show up in the profile.
is that any more enlightening?
