Sign Out from Yahoo Messenger on logging to chat room

Hi all,

I am a new member to this forum. I am facing some problem with my Yahoo Messenger. Whenever I log in for chatting (chat room), my messenger automatically signs me out. This problem persistes when I am trying to enter a Chat Room from my office PC. But when I use some other PC at home, or my frens PC in the office, it works fine i.e I am able to enter the Chat Room for chatting without getting logged out.

Please help me regarding this.

Thanks and regards,
Anubhav

Yeah, that's what I would say too. Have you ever tried a web messenger? I believe it has chat rooms (someone please correct me if I am wrong). And unless the web messenger is blocked too, you should be able to do go into chat rooms (if that is a feature, which I think it is) and IM.

Hi,

I have tried to log in to Chat Room through the other PC next to me in my office. It works fine there (so it could nto be a blocking issue from my office side). So i don't know what the problem is. Someone told me that there may be some file missing in your Windows directory, so i tried to reinstall my messenger, but with no success.

All my colleagues in the office are able to enter the Chat Room except me. More over, none of the colleague is able to log in through my PC. So it seems to be a problem with my "PC File System" itself.

I have come to know that there is file "Rapster" (something of that sort), which takes care of this and cannot be retrieved just by installing the messenger again. Please help me in this regard.

Thanks and Regards ,
Anubhav.

I have also tried the web messenger (www.e-messenger.net), but it's Chat Rooms do not work here in the office for any of the PC's.

Is it possible to change your computer's IP address? (Better to ask your administrator about this matter.) It might be IP related that is why I would like you to change IP before trying signing-in again in Y!M using your PC.

It may be Napster or Rapster, nevertheless I dont think it will affect your messenger.

Are you using Yahoo Messenger to enter chat, or using a third party chat client to chat with? If you try logging in on one ID in the same protocol with another program it will log the first program out.

So if Messenger is logged in using YMSG protocol, and you use YMLITE (just an example) to log in the same ID using the YMSG protocol it will log out your Messenger. You can use Messenger in YMSG and Ymlite in YCHT protocol with no problem.

hi,

Well i am not using any third party tool....moreover i have noticed one more problem coming up....

The yahoo does not show me who comes online and who logs out.....
i.e if i am chattin with some 1, and he logs out, the message is not displayed, moreover the status of tht person is still shown as "Available".....now when i again sign out and then sign in, the status of tht person is shown as "Not Available".......in other words, to get the exact status of a person in my chat list, i always have to sign in and sign out.....

I dnt know why it is not reflected instantly.......seems tht ther is some prob with my pC only......
