Apologies stupidisasstupiddoes for misunderstanding your earlier post,you are right group chat does not support voice on Sun Java(hence no voice bar or smiley option),I tested using Microsoft VM and it worked but it did not work for Sun Java(as you have explained)and I shoud have added that to my earlier post(so apologies again).I stand corrected.

Your other suggestion using messenger or another client would be the better option in the long run.

Hey Tinethle there is no need to apologize, I understood your answer. Your responses are always dead on, keep up the good work. And its Microsoft's and Sun's fault for not playing nice. And Yahoo's also for not coming up with a solution for Java voice support. I would love to chat using my Mac but chatting in Java without voice, bites.

WHY do you have to use java chat for?

As I stated in other posts yahoo GROUP chat rooms are not limited to use by yahoo java based access.

All of them can be accessed using any chat client with YMSG support its simple.

SO WHY NOT USE MESSENGER FOR THE ROOM?

if your group is

group.yahoo.com/group/somesillygroup

then you can use join the group chat room doing the following

type this in the main messenger chat box while in ANY CHAT ROOM

/join *g.somesillygroup:1

and you'll get to the room you want. DON'T PUT A SPACE IN FRONT OF THE SLASH

If you are in some other chat client make sure you are using YMSG protocol!
