Unable to open links from chat window

I am facing a strange problem with yahoo. Anytime someone sends me some http:/www. link on yahoo and I click on it. nothing happens. I am not able to open the link from chat window. I had to copy and paste that thing.. it'as really annoying.. Can anyone help me in solving this problem?

I had this problem once and it was because the person who sent me the link didn't get the url typed right. when I copied and pasted it into the browser, the browser corrected the link before sending me to the suggested site.

When did you first notice this problem?
Does it happen all the time now?
Does it happen with just one person or with different buddies?
What version of messenger are you currently using?

i go to click a profile link or another type of typed link and it doesnt go GO !
i have the next to the latest version of yahoo (not the latest) win xp home. i think its something to do with the yahoo script version with in the messenger itself .... any hints from another literate puter tech ... ive messeaged yahoo about it but they come up with some lame excuse ... blah bla blahhh
