Super Webcam - 8.0.0.711

I have been using every version of Y! messenger and have been more than satisfied with webcam stability and speed. Until this latest release, it seemed the super webcam mode was getting better and better....

Since installing version 8 starting at the beta, I noticed the 'super' button was sometimes not appearing at all in the lower right hand corner. Signing off/on randomly would make it reappear, and then super mode would kick in according to its standard behaviour. As of the very latest release 8.0.0.711, the 'super' button has purely and simply dissapeared, and even though i see my session going into p2p, the framerates are nowhere near what they have been for the past many years.

Needless to say, I have not modified any of my router/firewall settings. I have - after experiencing the problem - attempted to allow TCP/5100 inbound to see if that made any difference at all, since that is what seems to be indicated on the help text, but that did not make a difference. I have gone back to my original settings.

Has anybody else seen this (better yet, has anybody else come up w/ a fix?)

As you may have noticed, there’s no longer a Super Webcam button in Yahoo! Messenger. It’s not that yahoo had taken this feature away or that you’ve lost functionality, but rather that yahoo made upgrades so this enhanced connection is now available to all users. Hence, no need to choose it – it’s always on for you.

You can control the frame rate a little with the slide bar in webcam preferences, move the slide between faster speed and better quality.

Frame rate estimates:

Best Quality - 1 frame a second
Faster Speed - 3 frames a second
Small Cam - 5 frames a second

Here you go but Super Webcam is the same on that version as it is on the others.

Question: I don't know if this was because I was on dial up, but when ever I tried using Super Webcam, I was able to only use it with one contact at a time. I had to choose which contact I wanted to use this ability with. Under this new Yahoo release, are ALL contacts sent super, or does yahoo choose?
