I've actually gotten this error occassionally... When i get it i change my connection preferences to Firewall with No Proxies and it lets me log in fine. Then later i just switch it back to No Proxies and it works fine. Just Yahoo! loves messing with certain id's at certains times. Of course with the other setting you can't use voice, file sharing, etc... but it's alright for temporary use so you won't have to be without messenger!

If you try to switch IM names in messenger and they both have the same password, you must retype password or it will give you that "unable to login to yahoo messenger" error everytime.

Hi, i changed my connection to friewall with no proxies it still showed me the same error message, i also tried to signed into meebo.com i was able to sign in successfully

I seem to be having similar trouble after downloading itunes plug in
