As for your signature, as forum rules go, you must have 10 post before you can even have your own signature, so that is why you are not able to make one. (So it will become available after you make 10 posts.)

If you have any further questions, click on my name and send me a private message and i will be glad to answer them for you. Since I am by no means discouraging you from posting, just following the rules!

And as a last note, i forgot to mention: Welcome to BigBlueBall!

I've been using Yahoo chat since I joined this forum. And as a secret note, it's actually the reason I joined the forums (I wanted an MSN booter). I agree that booting was always an issue with Yahoo chat. People would write codes to boot just to show how good of a programmer they were. And this was four years ago. Since then, people have made booters because they want to prove they are "Yahoo coding gods", they try and prove how unstable the Yahoo client is, they try and moderate yahoo rooms and simply, they are just little bastards who have no self control and when in heated conversations abuse what they have available to them, and boot to "prove" that they have an upper hand.

Granted that there is no way around not being booted technically, basically just don't put your self into a position in which you will get booted. Wear shoes that fit your feet. Dare try a bigger size, and someone will take them from you. Sure disabling private messages from those unknown WILL save you, but what's the point? You go into chat rooms because you want to chat, not pick fights and be booted. But if that is your slice of pie, then it looks good on you, so stop bitchin.

Ok this is for detn8r I just want to clearify something in what you said.Which I am sur eyou realize this yerself, but with what you have written and the way its written it can be misinterpeted. For about 98% of the booting being done it is not being done by the programmers. Most programmers dont use booters they just write them and release them on thier own sites and other sites. Like me I have made and released 12 since october 4th. Have i use dany of them myself? NO. I used to test my stuff but now i only test when i have added new packets or something of the sort. I dont feel a need. Yes i used to boot quiet frequently. But any more it is more fun and more of a challenge to try to make something new and better. Like I say I dont think you were actually implying that it was the programmers doing the booting. I just wanted to clear it up for the other readers. I didnt want all anti yahoo programmers to get a bad rap because a few people may have misinterpeted something they had read. Otherwise very good post and very true.

I should probably let this thread die, but I feel compelled to put my 2 cents in. Bandwidth/speed does not kill. Brute force booting is usually not successful.

I am going to try to put post my point without giving any pointers to people who want to boot.

The reason Chat2 and Java protocols were harder to boot is because of their unreliability to deliver packets to the victim. Most of you know how PM's were lost using those protocols.

There have been several exploits out there that can drop different clients with just one packet.

Look at voice boots. That doesn't take a lot of bandwidth to boot a room.

So to say it is only bandwidth that is what you have to watch out for is wrong.

There are several different types of boots. The most successful ones use very little bandwidth and cause a buffer overrun, which leave people vunerable to other exploits.

On a side note, I have always found Dermont's and Hated's posts to be helpful. They know more about Yahoo Messenger than most. I would call them experts.

I probably should have specified by naming the actual option in Messenger to use. In this case if you open Messenger and then go to preferences, then Connection and choose the radio/option button called "Firewall with no proxies" apply then ok you'll sign into the network with YMSG/HTTP. It's also important to mention that you should go to Messenger's preferences and then to the "Ignore List" section and apply the "Ignore anyone who is not on my Messenger List" so if you are being PM bombed or other the packets will be ignored locally. The only thing that can bother you in this case would be add buddy requests but those won't be all over your screen if you're attacked but instead isolated (overlapping one another) since the "Ignore anyone who is not on my Messenger List" option doesn't stop you from seeing those.

After you do this do not enter chat just leave it in "pager mode" signed into Messenger. After this is done the same ID you used to sign into YMSG/HTTP with use that ID to sign into Chat 2 protocol on either the browser DHTML chat (which uses Chat 2) or a separate 3rd party client. You could leave the YMSG/HTTP messenger session minimized but still active and just focus on your Chat 2 session inside the 3rd party client or DHTML browser page (whichever means you go about when using Chat 2).

This works because YMSG protocol (including YMSG/HTTP) has priority/precedence over Chat 2 protocol and it overrides all of the packet types that you can receive such as chat invites and PMs. There's a way to toggle this back and forth from the YMSG connection not getting priority and the chat 2 connection receiving the PMs and chat invites but then this will make your chat 2 connection "bootable" by means of flooding (back to square one). What could be done is to toggle it on when you're not under attack *so you can receive your PMs and chat invites on the Chat 2 connection normally* and when you are under attack shift the priority back to YMSG/HTTP receiving that traffic so your Chat 2 (room) connection is unaffected. Let me know if you're wanting to know how to change that up and I can share that information.
I dont understand how you actually sign in to the network using YMSG/HTTP on messenger then sign in under the same name on a chat client using Chat2.And setting it to firewall with no proxies and reject pm's from ppl who are not on your list. I have dont this and the chat client, when you log in with the same ID as on messenger,Discconects that Id from messenger.Although I am not a Noob as they call it since I've been on yahoo since 1999, I have never had to worry about the booting, hacking, cracking names, since 06.So I dont have much knowledge on these types of problems but I'm trying to learn about it.Any info you can give me would be greatlly appreciated.Ty for your time and any help you can give.

I myself feel it was just a pitch to promote your product. Or else you would have included some other things and you would have mentioned the fact that your chat client is very bootable. Like some one had said it dont matter what you are using if they want you booted you will be booted. All they gotta do is even go to my site lots of booters there, many of which WILL boot YMLITE, MESSY, YAZAC, YEHLITE, YTUNNEL, AND MORE. Instead of going through the trouble of downloading and installing a 3rd party client of any kind it is much simpler and works just about as well(maybe better in some cases).....Before entering chat just go into your messenger settings and shut down pretty much everything except for PMs from freinds. This includes cam, chat, photo share, conference, and file invites. And the reason you can except PMs from freinds , but no one else is this..... Boot programs use bot ids in the program to send the boot packets. In most cases they ar enot going to be using thier own id in the program. The programs can be made to use from 1 bot to an unlimited number of bots. This will not protect you from all possibilities of being booted, but it will be a very great help. I would also like to add the fact the it DOES NOT matter a great deal of what internet connection speed the person is using to operate the booter. I have just finally recently switched from 56kbps dial up to 3.0mbps DSL. I myself booted more people and better on my old dial up connection. So really folks do not try to let this guy fool you with everything he is saying. I will though say that I have used his program. It does work and work well, but is not unbootable. I am not saying he says it is or anything of that manner I just want people to be aware that it isnt. His program is a very well written program though and serves its purpose. I will say though his post was a little to in depth for the average yahoo user to even understand or comprehend. I say this, because in my time on yahoo I have found that the average yahoo users are morons. LOL. Well I have said enough. P.S. I did not write this to in anyway degrade or run down YMLITE or its writer. I was just simply stating FACTS on simpler, but truthful level.
How can you say you're not trying to degrade anyone with your statement of the average yahoo user is a moron??? I have been on yahoo since 1999 and am an average user.I have no use for booters, crackers, or any other tools.I'm merely on yahoo to chat with friends in a room.I find that offensive not only to myself but others as well.I'm sure others would agree.Just because you might have more knowledge than some users doesn't make them morons. You should use what you know to help the less unfortunate instead of putting them down like that.I have found this site to be very informative and educational. And most on here seem to know what they are talking about and help ppl out very much.Ty guys, I give credit where credit is due.I'm not trying to be mean but calling the average user a moron is just wrong.Ppl need help sometimes and ppl that have more knowledge than others should use that to help ppl less fortunate.

Well I was googling something and came across thing and wanted to clear something up about the anti boot. Soda did not create the source or the idea he got it from Ride from Yahlethal it was a trade for someone elses source. He then made his own program and the dirty program that steals names was also Soda's he took a lot of names from people..... But I wanted to clear that up the program he got the source from is called Guardian sorry for this being so long just wanted to speak my mind.

yahoo booting

i so not say im an yahoo expert but i am one of those using a booter for a very simple reason:ive got tired of persons sending me naked images or insulting me in chat rooms only because they have something wrong with theyr minds.but i do not abuse this and the fact is that sometimes its good kicking some as....e.mr craig c its right with what he said but:as long as theres a conexion or can be established a conexion beetween two yahoo users the posibilitis of booting exists.I had all my pms locked(even those from friends)and guess what-ive got booted.how?the person ho booted me used a very simple command(i do not say which)in ms-dos adressing mi ip and closing all my conexion.this is not strictly conected to yahoo booting but it uses yahoo to find the ip of a person. So to conclude nobody is 100% safe on the network.i found that a good way to avoid booting is no messing whith others.offcourse there are those ho do this only for fun.they are the problem not the chat client we use or our conexion speed or thing like that.its all about us.stay safe
