A hotkey system for accessing other parts of the program can be done. A hotkey can be customly created for clearing the chat room screen, the screen can be cleared from the menus we've added, cleared from the command-line and even cleared by right-clicking on the chat screen and selecting the option. Since a hotkey was originally added to make it more convenient to clear the screen adding them to access other parts of the program would make sense. Consider it done.
2. Autostarting Yahoo when opening YTK, like Y!Tunnel does.
It already does this, by design.
5. Built-in emote editor (for Yahoo's chat emotes)
Could be easily added, good idea.
7. Ability to move the Chat Room Activity Logger to the top of the chat (or bottom like Y!Tunnel has it).
The mini activity (embedded) logger is placed in an area where it makes the most sense to put it. The standard activity logger however *has images* can be moved around, sized etc to your liking.
8. Have the ability for YTK to detect those who sign on that are not on your buddy list (to hide the ghost logins issue Yahoo has).
This has already been handled with the on-screen offline/online friend notifications and was already planned to be finished completely. Thanks for all your suggestions. Some of them would make nice additions.
As for creating plugins for Messenger 8.0 we could do this but I haven't fully explored the Yahoo! Developer Network SDK yet. While I know what's possible and what it can do the plugins are limited to only running in the buddy list window or in IM windows (to the best of my knowledge). While Yahoo!'s new SDK sounds promising it's not something we'd really need to take advantage of since we can do much more without even needing to tap into it.
Kingofchaos, what type of editing would you need done for Yahoo!'s emotes? I could create an editor to interface with Yahoo!'s emote_user.dat file and allow you to add or delete the ones you want. Is that what you were suggesting? If not then give me some more insight and I'll get it done and working by tonight.

So just a suggestion, make sure each new version of Yahoo is compatible with it and all its features before trying to implement new features. But if you guys priced it in the right price range against Y!TunnelPro you guys could make a killing.

He updated his build on version 2.0 to work with Yahoo 8. I think he has bigger plans for 2.5.

Yes, that was exactly what I was suggesting, but with the ability to format them as well (font, color, size, ect).
If you need anymore suggestions, I'm full of them.
Another suggestion I could make would be to add a feature to fix a bug in Yahoo 7.5 and above. The Chat Word Filter always stays on, regardless of being set to None. You can fix this by deleting everything inside of filter1.enc, but, I'm wondering if there can be a way to correct this in memory as Yahoo runs?
Here's one more feature suggestion, removal of the Yahoo search bar from the top of IM windows.
And I still have plenty more ideas, including a multiple user system (having different settings per Windows account/Yahoo account), voice chat recorder (oh wait, you already mentioned this on the first post, my mistake), ability to save/backup voice messages, ect.

The price structure is very interesting to me. Are you considering a one-time charge, or a recurring annual charge? And how similar will it be to that of, YTunnelPro?
Sounds like this will be fun. Thanks for sharing it on BBB!

I'm pretty sure the price would be quite fair, especially if it's better than Y!Tunnel's price. It'll basically be like Y!TunnelPro, but with features of it's own, not to mention updated more often.
So if you know how to use Y!TunnelPro (like I do), then you can probably use this program with ease.

Detn8r: It'll be a one time charge with all updates being free for the life of the progam (same deal with Y!TunnelPro). It will be pretty similar to it as they both work the same way to do what they do you could say. They use a lot of the same methods and concepts for the flexibility that both of our programs provide.
As far as pricing goes Y!TunnelPro (which offers a very similar featureset give or take some of them) used to sell for $17.00 USD. That price has since went up with 2.5's release to $22.50. The price range for YTK Pro will probably be in the vicinity of $20.00 to $25.00 at a one time charge. I've done some price checking on my own and have seen the author of YahElite asking for donations/contributions of $30.00 for his client. I've seen tools written by Visual Basic programmers that tend to only perform a limited amount of duties going for anywhere from $15.00 to $35.00. While some of them might be worth that to some to others it might not be worth the full $30 or $35 dollars even with updates so a set price can't appeal to everybody, there'll always be people that'll disagree with the figure.
YTK Pro itself, just like Y!TunnelPro, isn't a single ALG (Application Layer Gateway) but in fact a complete "set" of them specifically designed around Yahoo! Messenger's services (voice, pc-2-pc calling, chat, cam etc). Each 'service' requires a knowledge of it's inner-workings (meaning it's protocol and operation) with us being in charge of writing a packet assembler for each, custom parsing routines and developing the systems to make it all work per service. So, getting back to the initial price, it will probably debut in the $20 to $25 range which we think is more than fair for all that it will be able to do as a first beta release to the public.

$20 to $25 seems really fair to me. When it launches, I'll be sure to be one of the first to purchase this program.

One feature that I was thinking of adding is per-user logging of chat room messages (with timestamps). Messenger allows you to save the chat room conversations and all but if you only wanted to save text from specific users you'd have to wade through a sea of messages that aren't what you want to see logged. I try and think of useful options that could be added each and every day, I've already got a decent list and your suggestions have been noted, kingofchaos. Lots of nice things are planned regardless of the amount of work that some of them will require.

That's a nice idea. Like flag certain people in chat rooms to log for example. That's a very good idea.

I have a question about privacy concerns regarding this program. I know that Y!TunnelPro saves your login id and password to their servers when you sign in with it as to prevent people from "stealing" their program. Yes I said it, Y!TunnelPro saves all their users ID and Password to their servers. As much as I am for preventive measures from illegally acquiring the program, I do not like the idea of having my yahoo id and password being stored on someone's server whether it be secure or not. So my question is will this program be loggin our username and password to your server as well or will you be implementing some other method whether it be hardware based to be assigned with the serial key?
