That's just an urban legend. All it does is log attempts of using the same key from different IP addresses. They DO NOT log IDs and passwords.

Doesn't sound like an urban myth to me. The moderator for the Y!TunnelPro forums, Donna, even stated it in one of her posts replying to a user why his/her key was disabled. This is what she said: "I replied to your forum PM.......when we disable a key, it is because of activity that occurs OUTSIDE of your family use......we keep a log, and it shows key usage all over the country, different IPs, different user names, different ISPs, many factors go into this decision before a key is disabled....your key has been shared, whether you were the one who shared it or not is not our concern, as when you purchased, it was with the agreement that the key would be secured and your responsibility." So you see she says they log all that info. Sounds kinda like spyware.

As much as I am for preventive measures from illegally acquiring the program, I do not like the idea of having my yahoo id and password being stored on someone's server whether it be secure or not. So my question is will this program be loggin our username and password to your server as well or will you be implementing some other method whether it be hardware based to be assigned with the serial key?

I don't see how saving a Yahoo ID is gonna stop stealing let alone prove that anyone is stealing. I use YTunnel under quite a few screen names does that mean I'll get flagged for stealing something. If so that is quite ridiculous. Oh and on an added note Donna doesn't seem to bright but she does have a lot of access to our info but I don't think she understands it all. Some of her post I've read she sounds like a blond when it comes to the internet

Privacy Concerns

Enigma666:

YTK will never violate your privacy. No usernames or passwords are stored remotely via a private server or locally to harddisk, that is potentially a privacy risk. Hardware fingerprinting techniques usually fair well combined with a server authentication system (Online Licensing Scheme).

kingofchaos6669:

Can't comment much on YTP as it has it's own way of authenticating however I'm certain you are right with what you said. I haven't looked at how Chet is doing it.

Enigma666, I think she ment the Windows username or Computer username, not Yahoo usernames.

As to how much will the "Pro" and "free" differ?

The free version will definitely be more capable than the old Y!Tunnel Basic program that Chet was offering at no charge. I can't give you an exact feature set for the free to compare and contrast against the Pro because that's still being decided. I can tell you it won't have some/most of the "luxury" features such as the Recent Rooms List capability or all the extra options to "zone" PMs, requests and invitations to give you a very rough idea. For a free program I will say that it will be nice though, that's for sure.

Just added voice ignore count support to the embedded chat activity logger since I thought it'd be useful. This means that you'll be able to tell how many users are ignoring you and how many voice ignores other voice users have in real-time. While this isn't a new feature (added it last year) it's more convenient now since you don't have to look down at the standard activity logger each time you want to check how many ignores a user has on voice. I know this has been done before and I remember it being used in the client "MyChat" years ago so I'm not claiming to be it's pioneer.

If you're being mass ignored you'll know it, and depending on whether the mass ignore program is programmed to ignore you when you key up or ignore you just for joining voice you'll be able to know well before you even key up on the mic (if it's the latter). It might amuse some to see that they're being mass ignored, maybe it'll make them think twice before getting on the mic or even staying in the room. =\

Well all i can really say is if this is that similar in build and use to ytunnel it wont be hard for a programmer to make packets for a booter and boot it. so i guess in reality there relly is other peeps just as retarded as Chet Simpson. All though most dont relize it that Chet Simpson himself makes booters capable of booting his own product. The man is smart in that aspect.....Build a messy add on and sell it then make booter that will boot it and sell them. LOL LOL LOL Which this bout the only smart thing he has done lol lol
