How 'bout a USB camera WITH a mic?

I'm having the same problem. Reciently I re-installed my Logitech WebCam. Soon there after the annoying pop-up started...

But, uh, yeah. How do we make it go away?

Wish I knew. I can't even have a voice chat with my friends.

Perhaps turning messenger off as your default p2p voIP software may stop it

preferences >> calling and audio >> untick use yahoo messenger as my default program for internet calls.

press apply then ok after change.

let me know if that stopped it.

Unchecking default

Nope... Oddly enough the box wasn't checked. I checked it and applied in the hopes of somehow resetting it. Once applied however, I couldn't un-check it.

OK, so I shut it off and back on just to see what happened... Still have the message and, get this, the check box in settings was unchecked again!

Hmmm....

It must be something to do with the filetype for pc2pc calls been set to yahoo.

if you have another program capable of pc2pc calls try and set it for default.

I had the same pop-up message advising that a USB phone was connected to Messenger, when that certainly was not the case. I was able to supress this message by going to the Messenger menu, selecting Preferences, and clicking Calling & Devices. At the bottom of the Calling & Devices screen is a checkbox titled "Allow USB devices to access Messenger." When I unchecked this checkbox and restarted Messenger, the pop-up message did not appear.

I am using Yahoo Messenger version 9.0.0.2162 on Windows Vista Ultimate, Service Pack 1.

I hope this helps you.
