Yahoo! Messenger Spam

I must have over 200 in my blocked list now by clicking ignore....
Every day I get 3 - 5 of those spam messages

Well, there's a limit to how many people you can have on ignore, 99 I believe is the limit.

I haven't counted how many are actually there but I hit ignore to at least 3 a day

Personally, I don't have this issue as I use a companion program with Yahoo! Messenger (YTK Pro), so no bots or spam for me. Now, you could effectively turn off PMs in Yahoo's prefs, but if you go to chat rooms, you won't see anyone type in the room (a bug from turning off IMs).

Since I have had YM
I have never entered a chat room with it or WLM for that matter....

I only use my messengers to chat between known friends & I still get mega amounts of spam with YM....

I have only gotten spam from WLM about 10 times in the last 3 years....

And I never post my YM or WLM contact info at any sites I visit....

If I want to add someone to chat with I sent them a message via sites internal PM's to ask if they have and will add me as a contact in messenger....
