Being listed in the Yahoo Member Directory

Even though I have the "add my profile to the member directory" de-selected in the edit profile section, it still appears in the directory. Maybe that is how spammers got my id. How can I remove it from being listed in the member directory?

If that doesn't do it, you probably can't. Yahoo's profiling system is pretty much screwed up right now. It's in a transition until they finally get the new profiling system out to replace profiles and 360.

I'd like to point out that this may be the longest transition ever. I haven't been able to change my profile picture for almost a year now. Long story short: don't expect this transition period to end anytime soon

I agree that that is where the spammers get your addy from.....

I will watch this thread to see if anything new pops up on getting your profile remove from the directory...

Yahoo!: More Stuff Broken Than Fixed!

I'm sure they'll eventually address this stuff... I'll give a 10 year time frame, just to be safe. :P Then again, if Microsoft does indeed acquire Yahoo, they could fix Yahoo's mess.

My guess on that would be that if Microsoft acquires Yahoo then you can probably say good bye to YM

Maybe. They may keep Messenger alive, but things like chat rooms could potentially be dropped.

At this point, any change would be better, since Yahoo basically neglects their services now.

True enough....

I use mainly WLM for chat and can chat between WLM & YM but the buddy prefers YM....

Why I am not sure
