Display Pic/ File Transfers/ Photosharing not working.

Hello,

the display pictures, file transfers and photosharing are not working with my ISP connection.
it always shows up some error incase of file transfers and the pictures are always in form of grey boxes or black boxes.
I think it is a issue with my internet connection as I tried connecting with a dialup and it worked just fine. and my ISP is being least co-operative abt this.

So i am pretty much a noob in all this but are my yahoo ports being blocked my by internet provider or is it some setting i need to fix. can registry edit help with the ports?
I have been struggling with this for the past 3 months now. i hope someone can help me find a solution to this.

Thanks.

Exactly the same problem buddy!
I m trying to fix this problem since ages.
I m using a router,It is D-Link DI-524
But my friend who is not using a router is also facing the same problem...
I've tried installing many versions of yahoo messenger, but it just doesn't show me the display pics, nor does it allow me to transfer files/ photo sharing..
I can still do voice chat and use my web cam as well..

Have you done complete virus and spyware scans on your computer with up to date defintitions? Yahoo has been very sensitive to malware lately. Also, be sure you have the latest version of flash and java installed.)

Beyond that it's likely Yahoo issues which have been running rampant as of late.

Yahoo photosharing and file transfer

After months of hasseling with Yahoo about photosharing and file transfer problems, I found a solution that worked for me. If you have Norton 360 running on your machine, UNINSTALL the addon pacakge that you can get. After I uninstalled it file transfer and photoshare work perfectly. Do not disable it, Uninstall them. Im still having trouble with display pics but all else is fine

Another reason I personally won't ever recommend using Norton, and suggest removing it entirely, replacing it with more user friendly options.

For anti-virus protection, I'd recommend ESET's NOD32 anti-virus. Nice and friendly, and uses little system resources. As for the issue(s) at hand, I honestly believe these to be Yahoo server issues, ones that only Yahoo can fix.
