Problem is that wehn we start video transfer its ok, almost no delay but the writing part of yahoo becomes extremly slow. When u writing there is few seconds delay when recognising what u typed. problem goes aways if camera is off... anyone knows solution to that? or its just better to use some other program simultaniosly for jjust the webcam and yahoo for writing? if it is u have any suggestions about program? it should at least have the always on top funcion

Also, is it normal for the frame rate of wc in yahoo to be slow, despite the fact that both I and the contact have dsl? It goes about 1 to 3 frames a second. So slow. It always does it. On both our ends. What's up. I even read somewhere that with dial up, it goes one frame a second, with dsl, it goes 3, and with dsl and making the wc window smaller, it goes 5. But that is still slow. dsl and it still seems to be around 1.5 frames a second and that is with the wc setting set to best performance under the wc option. Strange. I click web cam under messenger when no one is online to see myself and it is usually 3 frames a second, but when I'm chatting with someone and we are both showing each other wc, it seems to operate at 1 frame a second despite the fact we both have dsl and live about 15 miles away from each other.

I've personally never liked webcam on Yahoo. I find WLM is much more reliable and performs better. However, you can only do a 1-1 on WLM as opposed to broadcasting to as many people as you like.

But Yahoo servers have been acting up a lot lately on any number of fronts. So it may have nothing to do with you or your contact, and could just be a Yahoo issue.

Yahoo uses kdu_v32r.dll which basically handles the webcam images of you on cam which is streamed JPEG images.

It would not matter if you had a fast connection if it was not rendering the JPEG images right on per your quality settings in messenger.

In the image quality slider in messenger webcam preferences, what do you have it set to?
