My display image is always missing

My family and I have Yahoo IM 9.0 on 3 seperate desktop computers AND the laptop I am using now. Our display images of ourselves wll never show up. I have tried every possible setting, stealth settings, tried jpg, bmp. and png's. I am totally frustrated. One friend is constantly sharing new pics from a cell phoe and I can' get a one to show up. This problem has been ongoing for almost a year now.

Considering switching messengers if someone suggests which one is really the best and working properly.

Help?!? Hecares

That sounds to me like Yahoo server issues (which are known).

So there's nothing I can do?

So there's nothing I can do to help, report or change this? Maybe you all suggest a different IM? Trying to connect with family all over.... including pics would sure be nice when talking so we can see each other.

Nope. I'm pretty sure thousands of people have complained to Yahoo about this too (if you read the Yahoo Answers section for Messenger, this like this are mentioned constantly). Regardless what people trying to help there, it's not a Flash/Java or IE issue at all. It exists server-side on Yahoo's own servers, this I know for a fact.

If anything, in my honest opinion I believe Yahoo's about to go under, as it seems they're nearing the point of bankruptcy (well, unless Microsoft buys them). Because of that, Yahoo may not have the money to invest in fixing their various different issues.

I'd suggest Windows Live Messenger, since it's probably the most reliable service out there.

Yes, they're the same. MSN became Windows Live a couple years ago. And yes, I'd recommend it over AIM.
