Avoiding warning about bad connection while 'phoning'

I'm using YM 9 (windows XP-SP3 + updates) and it seems to work fine.

While chatting my girlfriend I activated the 'Call' and we are able to talk and listen.
But in the chatwindow a warning appears every few seconds about 'Sound quality might be bad. Maybe because of bad connection" (something like that, don't know the exact words).

It's really confusing as it requires t have a look at the chatwindow because it COULD be she typed something. So I want to avoid that message.
Of course, best way would be to have a 'good' connection, but I guess i cannot do much about it (can I ??).
So how can I block/turnoff those warnings?

Have you tried running the Call Setup Wizard? And no, you can't block these warnings.

I was in a call a couple of days ago, and both me and my contact got these notices consistently thru the hour long call. The sound was fine, there were no issues at all with the call, they're just an annoying part of Yahoo and voice as far as I'm concerned.

I use messenger all the time, and i get it every time, so i just stopped looking at the screen.

Why would you be talking and typing at the same time ?

If they said they were going to type something i'm sure you would hear them typing or they would say it.

Those inline brief messages are just indications of latency issues with your connection to the other person and are good when it comes to actually having issues with voice packets been dropped/lost.

There can be plenty of reasons for typing + chatting like:
a) if somebody is learning a language it is useful/needed to both type and speak
b) if you don't understand well what has been said you can explain
c) providing a link to a site
d) if you're discussing something (professionally) and you want to have it in writing immediatelly (like 'a basis for an agreement')
e) if you want to explain some steps to follow to solve a technical problem (like 'goto menu Tools | Options | Internet | Advance')

etc etc

Anyway, in general if a question is being asked usually it is more helpful to comment on possible solutions instead of criticizing the question itself

I can't say that I've tested it, but in voice conference, if the chat window is minimized and someone actually types in it then I get the same IM notification sound as a regular message and it flashes in the taskbar.

I would guess in regular 1-1 voice, the connection message would not cause it to believe anything had been typed. So if you were to minimize the window and your contact did type something, you'd likely get the IM notification sound (assuming you have them turned on) and you would see it in the taskbar. But I don't believe the connection message will cause it to behave the same.

Might be worth testing if it bothers you to have to keep an eye on the text area.
