Not able to launch Yahoo Messenger

No matter what version I install,no matter how many times I reinstall, and even after
formatting my computer, yahoo messenger fails to start up in my system.Earlier it used to work fine ,but I dont know what happened .

I was not using yahoo messenger for some time.I wanted to restart its use.But it fails to launch.

The initial window appears but after supplying user name and pwd or on clicking on the connection menu,it disappears.

The same work fines when I use meebo.Please help.

Hello and welcome to BBB! When was the last time you scanned your computer for viruses and malware?

if you're on vista, it's more than likely windows defender blocking it

make sure it's on the defender allowed list.

if it is, then check your startup list via msconfig or say another program that shows startup list (crap cleaner) for one and make sure the messenger startup keys isn't disabled.
