YM 9.0 in hibernation

i recently installed YM 9.0.0.2162 now when i type my username an password than click the sign in button what happens next is messenger stays in like a hibernation mode? you know when that big smiley turns grey & it looks like its sleeping..well it stays in that mode for awhile sometimes it lasted couple minutes to atleast hours..and i cant seem to log into messenger.. i have wireless internet service..and i also tried changing the connection preference back from connect directly to the internet to connect via a proxy server..at times it works and logs me on than it dont again..so anyone can help me why YM does go into this hibernation state.

It means it's not logging in. Can you log into Web Messenger or Yahoo! Mail? Are you behind a firewall or anything as such? You can try going to Messenger > Connection, then choosing HTTP proxy. Try logging in then and see if it works.
